Apple Announces Its Last Year at Macworld

I have to say this one surprised me. If it came from any other source, I'd be checking my calendar to make sure it's not April Fool's Day. However, looking at it dispassionately, it makes sense. Apple is the rare company that can call a special event and get the tech press to salivate a week in advance. Apple's probably decided that they don't need to spend the dollars for their Macworld booth.

I wouldn't read too much into the fact that Phil Schiller will be doing the last keynote. I've already seen people panic that it must be a health problem with Steve Jobs. I think it's much more likely that Apple doesn't have a blockbuster product to announce. In that case, Apple probably decided to go with the "B team".
