Apple announced new versions of iLife and iWork on Tuesday. You can listen to the special event here if you want.

I've already bought both the new iLife and iWork. Since iWork has added a spreadsheet (Numbers), it might be right up my alley. It has good enough Office compatibility to be useful to me and it has the Apple style that I like. Now it remains to be seen if they'll be good enough for me to use. It won't replace Office if you work in a cross-platform environment. However, it looks like it'll be more than enough for me.

I'm also looking forward to working with the new iMovie. From what I understand, it's gone through a complete overhaul. There have been quite a few complaints from iMovie power users about items it doesn't support (DVD chapter markers, and plug-ins to name a few), but Apple has kept the previous version of iMovie around so you can use it if you prefer.

Oh yeah, Apple released a new iMac. Look for a quick review of it in this month's newsletter. Not surprisingly, Irv's already bought it. :D
