I just couldn't resist the "American Pie" tie-in, what can I say?

Anyway, for those people who've been looking for a way to run Windows XP from within OS X, there's already a beta version of such a product available: Parallels Workstation.

Even once it's out of beta, $49 isn't much to pay for this capability. Of course, just like with Boot Camp, you'll need your own copy of Windows XP. Since I don't have an Intel Mac yet, I have no way to know how well it works and how well it integrates with OS X. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other companies that come out with similar products.

I know that CodeWeavers is planning to come out with a copy of Crossover Office for OS X. That product is a more slickly packaged version of WINE (Windows compatibility layer project).

For free, it looks like there will be a copy of WINE for OS X.

Anyway, for those of us who are forced to use Windows occasionally, times seem to be getting quite interesting.
