As some of you probably know, SBC/AT&T has come out with a new monthly rate for DSL service: $12.99/month. However, all of the advertising says it's only for new customers.

However, after keeping an eye at Broadbandreports.com, I've seen that existing customers have been able to get the same rate (or the $17.99 special if you have the Pro service).

Here's what you have to do:
1. Call 1-877-722-3755
2. Choose "Billing" from the first menu
3. Choose "Change service" from the second menu
4. Tell the representative that you get that you'd like to re-rate at the $12.99 (or $17.99) rate.

If you've just gotten your DSL service, this may not work. However, if your expiration date is coming up, this should work for you. If you get a non-helpful rep., simply hang up and try someone else later. From the reports I've heard (and my own personal experience), they seem very willing to give existing customers the $12.99 rate if they ask for it.
