At work we began archiving projects. Problem arose when the archive drive got damaged when we moved-data recovery showed enough of the files were unrecoverable so that it wasn't worth going through the recovery process. Luckily most of the work was also archived on cd, but one worker copied files to the archive from an external drive then deleted the files from the external drive.
Can I recover these files? This worker has not saved or resaved any files on this drive since archiving...So I am wanting to know if there is software that can recover the files that they deleted. I feel that since the drive hasn't been "written to" the odds are good that the files can be recovered, I just don't know what software to use to recover them.
I've never had to restore deleted files, but you may want to try Prosoft's Data Rescue II. It claims to be able to restore deleted files. It has a demo so you can hopefully see if it will work for you first.
