I don't often use Sherlock, but I did like using it to translate text and search for images. Now, it doesn't do any of that. There are no "channels" anymore. I don't know where they went, and the menu option to add them is grayed out. I don't understand what happened. The Apple channels folder is completely empty, too. Sherlock is essentially a useless piece of junk at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions to restore it to normal?

Ricky,

I'd try deleting the plist file (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Sherlock.plist).

If that doesn't help, I'd move the cache directory (~/Library/Caches/Sherlock) somewhere else (your desktop, perhaps?). I'm hoping that Sherlock will automatically recreate its cache. Hopefully, one of these two items will make Sherlock work for you again. I just tried using it and it works fine so it's not a matter of the channels no longer working.

Ah, thanks! I had tried removing everything but the Cache, so that did it.

I'm glad to hear it.
